Welcome to Passion Auto Club’s WordPress Blog

As stated on the community page of our website, we have demonstrated the fact that we embrace Web 2.0 by starting a blog, a Facebook Group and Business Page. We initially started the blog on Blogger but decided to transfer it to WordPress for several reasons. WordPress is more user friendly and I manage two other blogs here on here so going between sites started to seem like a hassle after I realized I could get all my blogs on one dashboard, which makes editing more than one blog from the same browser window possible. This time-saving feature is critical when you maintain multiple sites blogs and social-networking profiles. I hate the fact that I can’t get all my widgets to work as they did on Blogger but we voted for function over form. There were other considerations but that’s for another post, lets talk about Passion Auto Club…

Training and Education in the Jamaican Automotive Industry

I guess the major drawback with blogs is the amount of typing you have to do. Its especially tough for people like me who type with two to four fingers (My excuse for not making an entry until now).

Anyways, this entry is about the importance of training and education in the Jamaican Automotive industry. Overall I would say that we are in a bad position, but thats only my opinion. The Jamaican-German Automotive School (JAGAS) is doing a lot in terms of training, however the lack of support from other stakeholders within the automotive industry constrain good intentions, specifically as it relates to setting minimum quality and environmetal standards.

How do You Feel about Your Car?

I own a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant, my third car in ten years. As it is with most motor vehicle owners I have had good and bad times. Sometimes you feel like you would take a sledgehammer to it and other times you feel like its the greatest thing since sliced bread. I thought it would be interesting if I could get people to talk about their cars and experiences online.Take a swing, leave your comments and pics!
